Heir Miles

A royal visit to Northwold after-school history club gave me a long drive but a very splendid talk, covering Elizabeth I's clothes, Henry VIII's wives and The Succession. There were a dozen or so children there, ages 7 to 11, and they all sat and listened beautifully, and then asked brilliant questions. What more could a travelling freelance 16th century monarch wish for?!

Homecoming Queen

Last Friday night saw Queenie at Taverham Village Hall, doing a costumed talk for Costessey WI's group meeting. As one who lived in Taverham for a long time I was very familiar with my surroundings, and recognised a few of the ladies in the audience. The slightly foisty smell of the hall foyer was very evocative- it took me back to the endless Gang Show and Pantomime rehearsals, Guide & Scout functions and Harvest Festival celebrations of my formative years. The talk itself went extremely well- managed to shoehorn in a few extra funnies- and of course I was given the very much appreciated, nay, obligatory, cup of tea afterwards.
