My blogging presence has been woefully inadequate over the festive season. Having had a lovely break I am now in full swing with the 2011 Queenie Talks.
I kicked off with a lunchtime visit to Thorpe Rotary club. After a delightful meal spent sitting next to, quite coincidentally, the grandparents of one of my son's schoolmates, I 'gave' my Elizabeth I. The audience, which numbered about 50 or so, was silent and attentive throughout the talk. I was a bit unnerved but they assured me they were merely listening hard! They gave an extremely complimentary vote of thanks afterwards so hopefully I may garner a few more bookings as a result.
Work has begun on the Queen Victoria costume. It's going to be a beauty! Due to my age and size I will be portraying the recently bereaved QV of the early 1860s. With two bookings already, I can't wait to start.
The peg doll sideline is also coming on apace. New website for that coming soon...
